Whom We Serve

Each year, the student body of De La Salle draws youngsters from all corners of our city, including neighborhoods such as Harlem, the Bronx, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and many neighborhoods in Queens.

 

The statistics below, on De La Salle’s student body for the 2018- 2019 school year and the communities we serve, attest to the fact that De La Salle Academy fulfills its mission as an independent, non-sectarian, multi-ethnic institution committed to the education of economically less advantaged urban families.

94% of our students are African-American, Latino-American or Asian-American.

 

90% of our students are first-generation Americans.

 

48% of our students are from families with incomes of $50,000 or less.

 

31% of our students are from families with incomes of less than $30,000.

 

33% of our students are being raised in single-parent homes.
